Have you ever pulled out your phone to check the time while you’re out with a friend, and then suddenly find yourself sucked into Instagram, work emails, or i-messages? Before you know it, you’re no longer paying attention to the person you’re having coffee with. I’m guilty of it too, and wearing a watch can solve the problem.
It was my boyfriend who first brought this to my attention. He actually purposefully bought a new watch last week, because he noticed that when he was checking his phone in meetings for time, he would notice the alerts on the home-screen and get distracted.
As I’ve become busier lately with projects outside of my day job, I’ve finally appreciated what it’s like to cherish every second of free time I have. To maximize free time, I need to be extra productive whenever I’m working, and having a watch to check the time keeps me away from the distractions of my i-Phone.
For this reason, I was super excited to collaborate with Jord wood watches. This high quality unique accessory is ideal for my super busy lifestyle, and also suits my simple personal style. Jord’s watches are hand crafted from sustainable wood including bamboo, maple, sandalwood, blackwood, cherry, as well as exotic zebrawood and koa.
I chose the beautiful zebra wood “Cora” watch with a turquoise face. The look is so much more unique than a plain gold or silver watch and the neutral dark brown goes with everything. Being sustainabley sourced, automatic, and biodegradable (if my grandchildren choose not to inherit it that is) is also appealing to the eco-concious person I aspire to be.
I paired it with a comfy pair of boyfriend jeans, courtesy of a denim designer event at Express in NYC last year, and my all time favorite super versatile silk top. This outfit is the ultimate in basic pieces that go together in a flash with minimal thought process involved – right down to the black pumps. And of course, since I’ve been majorly on the orange train (especially in this post with orange shoes) I’m featuring my orange bag that’s been on repeat!!
How do you tell the time?
